The City Clerk/Treasurer’s office is location at 205 E. Barbour Street and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The City-Clerk/Treasurer works directly with the Mayor and City Council and is the custodian of public funds, which includes all minutes, resolutions, ordinances and codes. This City Clerk’s office is also responsible for City Council meeting agendas and minutes of the regular meetings, as well as work sessions. This office assists other boards with agendas and minutes such as Planning Commission, Board of Adjustments, Historic Preservation, Industrial Development and Water & Sewer Board.
The City Council meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. If these dates fall on a legal holiday the meeting is usually held the following day which is Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. Work sessions are held on an as needed basis.

Board of Adjustments – 1st Tuesday of each month, 4:00 p.m., 545 E. Barbour Street
Historic Preservation – 2nd Tuesday of each month, 4:00 p.m., 545 E. Barbour Street
Planning Commission – 3rd Tuesday of each month, 4:30 p.m., 545 E. Barbour Street
Water Works & Sewer – 3rd Tuesday of each month, 8:00 a.m., 840 W. Washington Street
The City Clerk is the Election Manager and is responsible for planning, conducting and supervising all City elections.
The City Clerk is also the Treasurer and is responsible for receipting revenue and disbursement of expenditures of City funds, for control of investment of City funds, preparing and monitoring budgets and assisting with preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
